Interested in Basketball? Looking for something for summer? Register now for NBC Isle of Man 2010!!
Northwest Basketball Camps, the world's largest overnight basketball camp, will be offering two camps on the Isle of Man this August. Featuring top coaches from the UK and US and including NBC's trademark enthusiasm, hard-work and intensity, NBC has been training athletes on the Isle of Man in how to be better players and people for well over ten years. Each year features an intense schedule and camp theme that challenges players both on and off the court. NBC Camps believes in the fundamentals of the game and that who players are off the court effects how they play on the court.
This year's camp theme is Electric amd the two camps are open to players aged 7 - 18.
For players aged 7-11 there is NBC Mini-Camp based in King William's College on August 10th & 11th 2010. This two-day camp is ideal for players experienced in basketball and who are new to the sport. You can download a registration form here.
For athletes aged 12-18 there is the 5-day overnight camp based in the grounds of King Williams College and using sports facilities across the island on August 9th-13th 2010. During the day athletes are challenged on the basketball court whilst the evening programme features fun and game as well as talks on NBC's core of four: Courage, Character, Commitment and Conviction. This week sees the finals of the IOMBBA Cup 2010 with four teams fighting hard for the titles of Men & Ladies Cup Champions 2010. All the action will be happening on Thursday 1st April, NSC Douglas. The evening schedule is as follows:
01/04/10 18:45 - Ladies Cup Final
Fellas V Sleepwell Slammers
01/04/10 20:15 - Mens Cup Final
Microgaming Cavaliers V Outback Hoppers
There will be seating for spectators as well as a 3pt Shooting Competition. It's going to be an exciting evening of top basketball excitment for all the family so why not brave the spring storms and head to the NSC this Thursday for a great night out! |

This week saw action from both the Ladies and Junior leagues. In the Ladies league Sleepwell Slammers faced Dacom whilst Fellas played Search & Select Saints. The Junior League saw GB'a take on Southern and GB'z facing Western. The night also a successful 'Blow Your Whistle' Referees course. Many thanks to Nicola Walkingshaw for organising and Paul Ellision, helped by Mark Walker and Martin Dunne for hosting a very informative and well attended 'Blow your whistle' referee's course on Thursday evening.

Exciting action in the IOMBBA 2010 Cup as teams fought hard for a place in the Cup finals on April 1st. In the Men's Semi-Finals Microgaming Cavaliers took on long time rivals Ron Smith's Turkeys and Outback Hoppers played Pinoy Rams. The Ladies Cup Finals saw strong performances from Fellas v Search & Select Saints and Sleepwell Slammers v Dacom. There was also action in the Junior League with Western 1 v GB'a and GB'z against Southern.

There was plenty of exciting action in the NSC for this Thursday's IOMBBA Basketball leagues. In the Men's League Timbermann Tigers faced Microgaming Cavaliers in a game which would either re-open the Men's league race or see Cavaliers take the title. There was also action from Western and Pinoy Rams. The Ladies league featured unbeaten Fellas against Panthers and Search & Select Saints against Dacom. Meanwhile in the Junior league there was a clash between the Western and Southern.
