Love Basketball? Aged 7-15? Then why not sign up for the IOMBBA/NBC Easter Basketball Camps! There will be two camps for budding NBA Stars, Saturday April 17th (Ages 7-11) and Sunday April 18th (Ages 12-15), open to players of all abilities who have a love for the sport. Running from 09:30-16:00 (both days) at King Williams College these camps will feature some great instruction and plenty of practice to help you improve your game and prepare for the Manx Youth Games.
The IOMBBA is teaming up with NBC Camps UK for these exciting day camps and both will feature at least one senior NBC Coach from the UK. This is the perfect chance to get great tutition from top coaches and experience the NBC ethos early! NBC Camps operate under the ethos of "Superior Atheltic & Life Skills Training" and have been helping athletes become the best they can be for over 30 years.

There was plenty of exciting action in the NSC for this Thursday's IOMBBA Basketball leagues. In the Men's League Timbermann Tigers faced Microgaming Cavaliers in a game which would either re-open the Men's league race or see Cavaliers take the title. There was also action from Western and Pinoy Rams. The Ladies league featured unbeaten Fellas against Panthers and Search & Select Saints against Dacom. Meanwhile in the Junior league there was a clash between the Western and Southern.

This week saw plenty of action from all three of the IOMBBA Basketball Leagues. In the Men's League there was a top of the table clash between Microgaming Cavaliers and Ron Smiths' Turkeys, Pinoy Rams played the GB Marvels and Timbermann Tigers took on Pokerstars. The Ladies league featured a match up between the undefeated Fellas and second place Sleepwell Slammers, while the Panthers took on Search & Select Saints. Meanwhile in the Junior League there was a match up betwen GB'a and GB'z.

NSC, Thursday 18/02/10 - This week saw a suspension of normal league fixtures for a special handicap tournament involving the full roster of both Men's & Ladies League teams. With games of only 12 minutes and handicap scores determined by league table position there was plenty of fast paced action as teams fought to secure places in the final.

The IOMBBA is pleased to announce the "Blow Your Whistle" referees course, a refresher for new and old referees alike - running 19:30 - 21:30 Thursday 4th March. This is a great chance to experience reffing in a relaxed environment, with the emphasis on fun, without irate players calling for the ball! It is informal and free! The course will include a short introductory session followed by practical hints and tips, and a go at blowing your whistle.
Each team must nominate at least 2 reps to attend this compulsory course. Please note that only attendees to this course, and those who have existing FIBA recognised qualifications, will be eligible to referee league & cup matches on behalf of league teams.
For more information & to book your reps on the course please contact Nicola Walkingshaw no later than Thursday 25th February 2010.
