There was plenty of action from the IOMBBA leagues this week. In the Men's League Pinoy Rams took on Pokerstars, there was a tough clash between Ron Smiths' Turkeys and Timbermann Tigers while Microgaming Cavaliers played Western Warriors.

There was also action in the Junior league where Western 1 played GB'z and GB'a faced off against Southern. Full match report by following the read more link.

Men's League
The opening game of the evening was the clash between the improving Poker Stars team and Pinoy Rams, with Poker Stars looking to record their first victory of the season. In a tight opening quarter, it was Poker Stars, helped by four points from Paul Murphy who held a slender one point lead going into the second quarter. The start of the second period saw the Rams team, with seven points from Luke Geneza, take control and they led 28 - 23 at the half time break. The second half saw Rams continue to control the game and they eventually ran out 56 - 31 winners.

The second game was the eagerly awaited clash between joint league leaders Ron Smiths Turkeys and Timbermann Tigers, with the Tigers looking to gain revenge for their defeat by Turkeys in the first round of the cup last week. A high scoring beginning  to the game saw the Tigers open up an eight point lead 29 - 21. With both teams continuing to play free flowing basketball in the second quarter it was the Tigers who held the lead at the half time break 50 - 43. The start of the third quarter saw Turkeys up the tempo of their defence, and hitting 11 unanswered points, they held the lead going into the final quarter 66 - 62. The final quarter saw the Turkeys hold on for a 86 - 76 victory despite the high pressure defence of the Tigers.

The final game of the evening saw Microgaming Cavaliers record a hard fought 55 - 31 victory against Western Warriors.

Junior League
The two junior league games played saw West 1 looking to continue their unbeaten run against GB'z, going into the final quarter it was the  GB'z who held the lead , but a strong finish by the Western team saw them run out 37 - 27 winners. The second junior game was a close affair with GB'a holding on for a 46 - 36 win against Southern in a keenly contested game.
